Our world is so imbalanced. The power lies with a few countries and some nations are absolutely powerless. Everybody is hungry for power which happens to be a basic human trait and this applies even to the nations. But what is this fuss about 'responsible nations'? Who has christened the so called responsible nations as 'responsible' and the not so liked nations as 'rogue' nations? I believe they are none other than some self-certified 'responsible' nations and self-proclaimed 'leaders' of the world. But, why does this self-certification work? Why not any objections to it? The answer is simple enough because these are The Powerful nations and you better listen to them! The quest for power is immense and every nations wants to dominate the world. At least if they could! The messiahs of 'equality for mankind' and 'human rights' are the ones who are leading the race for creating inequality between nations. I wish to ask them as to how about equality among nations with all nations enjoying equal rights ? If they call this world a family, then why not all members of the family be equal? Why this hunger for power and superiority?(P.S. I might sound crazy to some people. Proceed only if you can handle it.)
The history has been witness to numerous examples of prejudices and inequalities which many nations have faced. The mother of all discrepancies in this world is the very existence of the UN security council. The concept of only 5 members leading the world on important matters which concern the entire world, epitomizes the inequality among nations which I am trying to enunciate. Our motherland, India has been victim to so many of these biases which have become the norms of this world. Again, these norms are made by 'now you know who'. It's like succumbing to these biases and justifying them by saying 'that's the way things are. that's the way things work here.' And the saddest part is that 'I' cant do anything about it. 'I' don't have the right to change it. The rules are just set and forever. Nobody dare ask for a change! Even if anybody asks then just "Go to hell. We don't give a damn" or if you crave for some respect then we give you this "Probably we have other important issues on hand. This is not the right time to discuss this." or "the world has other priorities right now".
Lets talk about the N-word now. Hey! I am talking about the latest buzzword 'Nuclear'. The NPT recognizes only 5 nations as Nuclear powers or more appropriately Nuclear Weapons State (NWS). They have been endowed with this privilege because they were the ones who possesed nuclear arms at the time when the treaty was floated. So they can continue with the possession and manufacturing of the nuclear arms. Even if any non-signatory country decides to sign the treaty, they forfeit the right to produce or acquire any nuclear weapons because they fall under the category of Non NWS. The boundaries cannot alter. Even if a country like India which is surrounded by hostile neighbours like China and Pakistan and who perceives them as a threat to its national security, decides to sign the treaty, still the same rules apply because the rules are made once and for all. No consideration is given even if you are a proven nuclear state and you too are responsible. But hey, India does not have the right to self certify its responsible status!! This right solely lies with the so called powerful states. We don't have that decision power! No Non-NWS country can think about its national safety even if it perceives nuclear threat and is ready to act responsible! The situation is just ironical at its best. Today India fulfills every criteria for being a NWS country which the 5 countries met at the time when the NPT was instituted. But as I said, rules have been made and forever. Just because we got late in developing the technology, we lost out in the battle for reaching the acme. And the people who made it till there created these impervious boundaries. It's just like neglecting a kid because he learnt the poem late. No marks for learning late even if you are perfect at it now!
The arguments are simply endless and so is the vast ocean of this power imbalance. The things dont seem to be changing. The rules of this world are inscribed on a piece of stone and I dont see any knife capable of scraping them off. Dont know, when this pursuit of power will end or will it ever end? I hope someday it will and the world will truly be a better place to live in. We must start sharpening our knives to rewrite the rules which can change the world for better.

Great post bro.yeah u are very right in sayin that this world is imbalanced.but have u ever wondered we as a country india and other so called non mighty nations treats so called powerful nation ie 5 members of security council and few economically sound nations as our superior,then why complain.its not that just they look down upon us but we encourage them to do so by looking up at them as though they are some kinda yardstick to measure our prosperity.I would also go to the length of sayin that if not all but a large portion of our youth and people in general are wannabe Americans ,and Americans know that, dont we want their way of life ,dont we like to listen their kinda music, eat their kinda food and consider it hip, cool .
if we want to be taken seriously ,then we as a country must cultivate lil self respect ,even though on the outside we hate Americas policies but deep down within we want that position of power for ourselves ,we as a nation dream of earning the right of callin us superpower.but that aint gonna happen until we change ,instead of wanting to be like US we should have our own thing ,we should be filled with self respect and love for our country ,a dream is a must,vision. if we succed in that then every thing will fall into place and we will be there where we want to .
I have many thngs to say but time is of the essence right now for me .will post my view with backing, some other time.

First of all there is no shame in accepting the fact that countries like America are superior in terms of economy, technology and military.Infact, technology and military will automatically follow if you have the money. But it doesnt mean that they make the important decisions of this world and consider themselves the most responsible and wise nations.
The point which I am trying to stress through the post is that the rules of this world are made by only a few countries and the rules are so inflexible that even if some country like India finally deserves something( I know I am makin a judgment here. But anyways it's my blog),then the powerful countries wont let that happen. Now imagine that if India becomes economically sound just like America then will it be given a chance to come up and change something at the world level? I think that's gonna b very difficult no matter that we represent 1/6th of the people living on our planet. I mean that the rules are so obsolete and completely unjustifiable. The countries which enjoyed the limelight in the WW2 created cushions for themselves while making a body which was meant to govern the entire world(i.e.UN)
I agree with your last point where you mentioned that we need to earn some self respect and move towards achieving economic leadership which is the only hope that the voices of 1 billion people will be heard finally. We must start sharpening our knives because the rules are difficult to change.
Yeah u are right ,but what i was trying to convey through my post was ,why do we as a country India feel the urge to belong?why cant we be in our own league.why we want those inflexible rule to get flexible ,why cant we make our own rules? our own council where everyone is regarded equal.
well that can only happen when we stop giving importance to these powerful countries and their good for nothing groups,and focus totally on our overall devlopment as india ,when that happens these countries for sure as hell would notice and may flex their rules but by then who will need their support anyways, we would be in a postion of makin our own rules whatever suits us ,and thats what true superpower is made off.till that day comes its in vain to beg for their support.

I absolutely agree that our development is in our hands.It's natural that the world takes a note when you perform exceptionally. e.g China. The US finally feels threatened by China that it might overtake it in terms of economy and all other aspects. The threat is amplified due to the added reason that China is a permanent member of UN security council and it enjoys the same rights as US. Obama was recently found reading the book "The Post-American World".
But the point is that even if today India reaches the same level as China, the US wont feel the heat because of the lack of political muscle needed at the world stage. Still we wont get the things we deserve e.g. a permanent seat, recognition as NWS, still we will be forced not to carry out any nuclear arms program. So, the disruption will probably continue coz the rules of UN and NPT aint gonna change.
But our development is essential for the world to take a note of us which is the only hope that the hard written rules can be flexed according to our needs and aspirations.
Right on ,now tell me is US the centre of gravity? is this world unidirectional .why everything revolves around US? answer is simple that their economy ,milatry might are exceptional. if india can get to the point where its economy bcomes as good as US if not overtake ,then it would be like china u are right ,but i hate to disagree with u that even then india will be left out .with that economy that we are conceiving india wouldnt be denied that i can tell.and to start with am all bout making ur own rules who needs security council when one can make their own.and if india reaches that stage by god's grace it will but dunno how many years ,decades it will take but when that finally happens.india should try out its hand in breaking the existing rules down and comeup with something unique, something new some kinda council,or court of its own where every country voice will be heard ,no bias whatsoever. so that we can proudly say its indias orginal originated from india.and everyone is welcome.

I had essentially said the same thing which you might have misinterpreted. Only thing is that you say it in a different manner. If you read the last line of my blog which says "We must start sharpening our knives to rewrite the rules which can change the world for better.", you will probably agree that even I say the same thing.
The point which I wanted to stress through my last comment was that if today India was as same position as China in terms of economy, still we would be denied some privileges because still our economy wouldnt be as high as US. And now dont tell me that we dont want those privileges. Dont you think that the privilege of getting an NSG waiver on civilian nuclear deal is very important for our growth and prosperity?
So, the fact remains that we need exceptionally well economic and military power to rewrite the rules.
hahaa good goin ,well i hate to argue with u ,but the last thing i would like to say is ,U will agree that today india is nowhere in comparision to the economy that we are conceiving for it.but still india is about to get an exceptional deal from US .india got favour from US ,this 123 agreement is like a historic deal ,no other country got this kinda deal what india is about to get ,and this deal will get through with NSG BELIEVE IT OR NOT ,so my point is that india has just begun to take shape as world power and it gets a deal like this then what in the world makes u think ,it would be denied of its rightful place if india comes out to be as great a economy as US or China.
I never said that India would never get the deal. But why so many conditions? why people think that it will hamper the "nuclear non-proliferation" and all that crap? why nobody tells US or China about such issues? Is there any difference in US or India or China in terms of their responsibility regarding nuclear possession? Is India less responsible than US or China as far as nuclear program is concerned? The answer is simply 'NO'. Just because we dont have the nuclear raw material and we dont have the political power which we deserve, we are being played around like puppets.
I never disputed abt the present scenario ,but was talking bout the future when indias economy gets par with US and CHINA.and as far as now is concerened the fact is india havent reached the stage in terms of power which we as indians like to believe ,but we are getting there ,till then road for sure gonna be tough,but we will succed and this deal will get through .well its well known fact bro that might makes it right ,thats why i was emphasizing all over my post screw these so called powerful nation and india should work on its economy.once u are powerful everything around changes for good.and this nuclear fuel is not the only answer to our energy needs ,we can tap into many different sources of energy including heavy hydrogen that is abundant in the sea,solar,wind etc.but we will get the nuclear supply anyways coz world dont want to suffer lol they know that we are the emerging second fastest growing economy in the world right now and if we continue burning the traditional fuel like we are doing,a day wouldnt be far away when this global warming would knock on their door for real if not already knocking .
Irony is that..the powerless countries like austria, ireland and nz are blocking the deal
